ANDERSON ASTECLINES

Anderson Asteclines (b.1994, Brazil) is a Margate-based artist whose painting practice is rooted in instinctual and gestural mark-making. He holds an MFA with distinction from the Glasgow School of Art, and has exhibited at New Glasgow Society, The Old Hairdressers and the Glue Factory.

Currently in residence at the Tracey Emin Artist Residency (TEAR) in Margate, UK, from April 2025 to July 2026.

Upcoming:

Ordinary Ghosts brings together new work by three Margate artists - Anderson Asteclines, Brogan Bertie, and Casey Walshe - each connected to Athelstan Road. Installed in the domestic setting of Casey's flat at 15 Athelstan Road, the exhibition presents paintings shaped by the street's layered histories, daily life, and echoing spirits. Anderson's gestural approach allows figures to surface through intuitive mark-making. Brogan paints directly from life to evoke intimate portraits, while Casey explores flowers and plants as symbols of a personal queer history. Together, the artists offer a collective portrait of place. As part of Off Season, January 2026.

- Friday 23rd 12-4pm.

- Saturday 24th 12-4pm.

Sunday 25th, 12-4pm with drinks and poetry reading, 4- 6pm.

Flat 3, 15 Athelstan Road, Margate.

TEARS' final show in June 2026 at TKE Studios, Margate. Dates TBC.
